Dr Christina Chandler is a Specialist Clinical Psychologist , with a Doctorate in Philosophy who works with adults and teens.  She has a particular interest in trauma and has developed considerable expertise treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and trauma incurred during childhood that continues to cause problems later in life.  Her clients are serving and previously serving Defence members and their families.

Christina grew up in Western Australia and completed her qualifications at Murdoch University and Curtin University.  She has raised both her children, who are now adults, in Perth.  She has in depth understanding of issues faced by Defence members and their families as her own family includes former Defence and Police members.

Christina treats PTSD using the modality Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for which she has internationally recognized Provider Status.  This mode of treatment is recognized worldwide as a gold standard treatment for PTSD due to its effectiveness in reducing or removing symptoms.

Problematic formative experiences often into adult life where they may present as persistent depression and / or anxiety; eating disorders; cycling between perfectionism, unrelenting standards and periods of burnout and exhaustion; chronic relationship problems; anger issues; intense feelings of isolation, emptiness, lack of purpose and other issues.

Christina treats problems that have their origins in the formative years with Schema Therapy and she is a full member of the International Society for Schema Therapy.  Schema Therapy is an internationally recognized preferred treatment for these sorts of difficulties. 

Christina is passionate about her therapeutic work as well as mastering and maintaining the very best intervention skills as they emerge.  Her approach is to work collaboratively with clients as a “team” to achieve the treatment goals of the client.

  • British Psychoanalytic Council Accredited Time Limited Adolescent Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Practitioner from 2022.
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD Provider Status from 2023.
  • Full Registration with the International Society for Schema Therapy from 2023.
